The "Conscientious" TV Objector: 

You have plenty of money but choose not to own a TV.  You claim you don't "have time" or "there is nothing worthwhile on TV anyway" - but what you really mean is "I have such an interesting life" and "I think you are stupid for watching TV."  You claim to get your news from the internet and the radio.  And you claim to get your entertainment from reading, cooking, music, and theater. 

Just stop it. Get over yourself.  The television is one of the greatest innovations of our time.  I'm not arguing you should become a couch potato, but shunning one of the primary modes of communication and entertainment doesn't make you look smarter, it's makes you look like an out-of-touch snob.  There is actually some thought-provoking, intelligent content on TV these days.  A lot of it.  They even have an IFC Channel.  So please, just get a damn TV and join the rest of society.
