Don't Fear Strangers

Stephen Dubner from Freakanomics fame has a great post on the irrationality of fearing strangers.  It's not that strangers are never dangerous, it's that they are much less dangerous on average than our minds tend to believe.  Maybe this is one of the reasons why so many people don't feel comfortable walking around a crowded city.
