Remember when the DHS raised the "threat level" in August 2004 to High-Orange?  You may also remember President Bush was in a heated campaign at the same time.  Even if there was an actual threat - and we all have our doubts - what exactly was the public supposed do with this information?

I have no profound comment tonight, I just want to go on record to express my utter disdain for the Homeland Security Advisory System.  It was, and will always be, worthless, transparent, fear-mongering bullshit.  I can only hope it goes away with this atrocious administration.

Just so you can plan your day tomorrow, the current threat level is Elevated or Yellow.  The threat level has never been Blue or Green in the history of the system.
