Criminal
I know most people think the Plame Affair is old news by now, but after watching this segment on 60 Minutes on Sunday, I couldn't help feeling a bit depressed about the state of our country over the past 7 years. The outing of Valerie Plame was a criminal act and it's pretty clear to me (and the rest of the world) that multiple people in the administration were involved and/or responsible. Scooter Libby was convicted of perjury and obstruction of justice, but President Bush very quickly commuted his sentence. Justice was not served.
The sad fact is that many awful things this administration did will surely go under-investigated, under-reported, and certainly under-prosecuted. I think the American public is tired of the Plame story, so I wouldn't be surprised if it just died. In other words, there are so many other awful things that have happened since, I'm not sure there is enough energy out there to see this one through.
