Hank Steinbrenner Is A Rich-Kid Cry Baby

"My only message is simple. The National League needs to join the 21st century. Am I (mad) about it? Yes. I've got my pitchers running the bases, and one of them gets hurt. He's going to be out. I don't like that, and it's about time they address it."

These are the idiotic, childish, and whiny comments from the rich-kid, soon-to-be Yankees owner Hank Steinbrenner.  One of his best pitchers, Chien-Ming Wang, was injured running the bases in an inter-league game Sunday night in Houston. Unfortunately (for Hank), this occurrence does not excuse his moronic comments. Major League Baseball has had inter-league play since 1997. Every game played in a National League stadium has played by National League rules. The World Series plays by the same rules every year. Let's forget the rules for a minute, think about what Hank Steinbrenner is complaining about? His pitcher was injured running around the bases. Not sliding into second and not running into the catcher at home - he was injured by simply running around the bases. Conveniently crying about the rules when your pitcher gets hurt is bad, but complaining that baseball players have to run is even worse.

UPDATE: "Yanks Wang out until September" has my vote for the most unintentionally funny headline in a long time.
