Could the Democratic Governor from Kansas be his choice? This article from Sam Stein of the Huffington Post sheds a little light on her career. As impressive as Stein makes her sound, I don't think it'll happen. Two big show-stoppers:

1. She has no national security experience
2. She is a woman who is not Hillary Clinton

If Obama selects anyone without national security experience, this will leave the door wide-open McCain and the Republicans. They will play up the fear vote more than ever and I think they would be effective. If Obama selects a woman other than Hillary Clinton, half of the Democratic Party would go crazy and the media would have a field day. At best, this would be a distraction he doesn't need, at worst it would keep many Democratic voters at home causing him to lose the election.
