It's obvious why a Hillary Clinton endorsement of Barack Obama would be helpful for the Democrats - but it's not clear to me why a formal concession is necessary. Barack Obama received the majority of the delegates, therefore he wins. Were the Pistons asked to concede to the Celtics on Friday night in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals?  No. They had fewer points, so they lost.
