An Alternative View Of Iran
It really bothers me when the mainstream media paint the picture that all Iranians admire Ahmadinejad, are terrorists, and hate America. Just like the Iranians receive bad information from their leaders about the West, we receive similarly biased views from our government about them.
It's for this reason that I enjoy reading pieces like this that give a different perspective - it's a short interview with an Iranian blogger, Omid Memarian. He has some interesting things to say and certainly has a different perspective than most of what we hear from our "normal" media outlets. The reader comments below the interview are equally insightful.
I'm not naive enough to think we can just talk to each other and magically live in some fantasy peaceful world. I also know that Omid Memarian's perspective is just one man's view. That being said, it is refreshing to hear some intelligent dialog about Iran and America - instead of just listening to both of our leaders call each other names from halfway across the planet.
