Fareed Zakaria, the editor of Newsweek International, speaks the truth.  While he gives the issue much more historical context than I did, his position is largely aligned with my previous post.  It's not a position that will make either extreme happy, but I think it's reasonable and pragmatic. Read the comments below Mr. Zakaria's editorial and you'll get a flavor for why many others, from both sides of the issue, disagree.
